With Place Rihour boasting 90 wooden chalets selling a range of mouth-watering festive treats and souvenirs, students will have ample opportunities to interact with locals and build their confidence as they wander through the markets.

Cologne plays host to seven Christmas markets over the festive season, each with different themes and entertainment. Outside Cologne’s impressive cathedral you’ll find over 160 traditional German Christmas market stalls, providing students with numerous opportunities to try out German phrases.

The UK is also home to a number of fantastic Christmas markets, with many of its major cities hosting sprawling markets throughout their centres. London boasts some of the biggest markets to explore, including the famous Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.
