Reasons to visit London for primary school trips

  • Variety of visits - One of the best things about London is that the choices for places to visit are virtually endless! Whether you want the excitement of the West End to get drama students passionate about theatre, visit history museums to enhance understanding of England’s past, or even simply reward year 6 students with an enrichment trip after their hard work on their KS2 SATs, London has plenty to explore.
  • Flexible trip length - As London has so much to offer, your trip length can be as short or as long as you want to suit your students’ needs while providing a valuable and memorable experience. For example, a day trip to London is ideal for younger primary school students in year 1 or 2 who might not have been away from home overnight yet. One day is plenty of time for a key subject-specific visit and still have time for fun before heading back to school. An overnight trip for students in year 5 or 6 who have more independence gives you two days to visit several museums or points of interest, while giving students the opportunity to create memories in this exciting city.
  • Experience the big city - Many of your primary school students may not have visited London before. An educational visit to England’s capital offers students the chance to see a variety of new sights and environments in a safe and structured way. Your students are bound to find the excitement of exploring a one-of-a-kind city like London captivating and unforgettable.

More London visits

  • Highlights of London Guided Tour

A half-day guided tour of the city on board your coach is a perfect way to see all the major sites. Highly recommended if this is a first-time visit to London for many of your students.

  • Museum Of London

Step inside the Museum of London for a memorable journey through London’s unsettled history. Telling London's story, students can enjoy the prehistoric, Roman and medieval London galleries through to the present day.

  • Madame Tussauds

A thrilling and exciting visit containing inspiring wax works of some of the world’s most influential and famous people. Galleries include Sport, World Leaders, The Royal Family and Music, along with the Spirit of London ride and Marvel Super Heroes 4D experience.

  • Thames River Cruise

This cruise along the Thames is a great way to see some of the major sights of the city. We recommend groups take the 40 minute cruise from Westminster to the Tower of London, which takes in Westminster, Big Ben, Somerset House, London Eye, Oxo Tower, The Tate Modern, St Paul’s Cathedral, London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Tower.
