    Some 150 interactive exhibits make science and technology a special experience at Science Center Spectrum, located by the German Technical Museum. Attractive and astonishing phenomena encourage students to join in the experiments independently. Fundamental laws of nature, the basics of science and technical principles are explained in a fun way.
  • The Plastinarium (Guben)
    The PLASTINARIUM combines the moving experience of seeing a BODY WORLDS Exhibition with an opportunity to witness first-hand some practical steps of Plastination. Located in Guben, the 3,000m2 Exhibition space is set up as a fully operational Plastination laboratory.
  • BMW Plant Berlin – Motorcycles
    A fascinating visit where students experience live production and take a look behind the scenes with company experts. The products made by the BMW Group inspire with unique design, dynamic and agility. The BMW Berlin Plant has a long tradition as a production site with an exciting history.
  • Bewag Power Plant
    BeWag are able to organise guided tours for student groups around 2 of their power plants, Reuter West CHP plant which is coal fired, as well as the most modern gas fired power plant Mitte CHP plant, located in the city centre.

  • The Story of Berlin
    An interactive museum that explores 800 years of Berlin’s history. There are 23 theme rooms equipped with multi-media technology.
  • Museum Island
    A group of museums located in the centre of Berlin on the River Spree: Alte Nationalgalerie: 19th Century paintings and sculptures from artists such as Monet, Renoir, Cezanne. Pergamon Museum: Antiquities, Islamic Art, Middle Eastern Art and objects. Bode Museum: Home to a collection of sculptures from Byzantium through to the Middle Ages. The New Museum and The Old Museum: Greek, Roman and Egyptian art.
  • Kurfürstendamm
    This is the main shopping street in Berlin and home to one of Europe’s largest department stores, KaDeWe, with all that a major store offers.
  • Timeride Berlin
    Take a seat in a bus of the 80s and set off on a VR city tour, to experience a border control at Checkpoint Charlie, drive along Friedrichstrasse and see the Palace of the Republic shining in its former glory.
  • Bowling
    Berlin has a range of bowling centres throughout the city. Ask us for more information if you wish to book a session.
  • Tropical Islands Water park
    An indoor tropical beach with waters slides, lagoons, rapids and wave pools. Great fun and a great place for students to burn off excess energy. This is approximately a one hour drive from the centre of Berlin.

Science in action for global challenges at the Earth Summit

Earth Summit introduce students to the global challenges linked to climate change, as a companion trip to a science trip to Berlin which shows how science is solving them.

Hosted at Keele University, Earth Summit is an annual event run by Next Generation Travel and Study Experiences.

Covering climate change, sustainable futures and environmental responsibility, for schools attending our Earth Summit event, a Berlin science trip is a natural next step turning ideas into real world experience seeing how science, research and innovation are actively working to address these challenges in practice.

As a learning pathway, Earth Summit is designed to covers a number of Gatsby benchmarks for STEM and Geography GCSE and A Level, supporting learning in the classroom.
