Anglia’s Holocaust fully guided tour visits the former Jewish community of Kazimierz, the site of the wartime ghetto in Podgorze and the infamous Plaszow labour camp, familiar to viewers of Schindler’s List, before spending a full-day’s study visit at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum.
A highlight of this tour is the increasingly rare opportunity to meet a Holocaust survivor or recipient of the ‘Righteous Amongst the Nations’ award, to hear their unique stories and ask them about their experiences. All of our tours to Krakow and Auschwitz are accompanied by an experienced guide chosen for their expert knowledge and ability to engage with your students, helping them develop their understanding of this most emotive of subjects.
Take a look at our 3 day sample itinerary for Auschwitz and Krakow, where you'll find the full selection of visits available to include in your history tour.
We can include a variety of alternative and fun experiences to provide opportunities for cultural immersion, student bonding, and a change of pace from the more poignant elements of your tour. Wieliczka Salt Mine is a fascinating visit to include during your history trip to Poland. In this truly unique place, located a short coach ride from the centre of Krakow, your students will venture underground to discover countless treasures.
Whilst wandering the many areas within the mine, you'll get a glimpse into 700 years of mining history, discovering intricate salt sculptures, underground chapels, and different tools and techniques used in salt extraction.
At Anglia we care about our customers, our staff, the places we visit, the stories we tell and the organisations we work with. These key principles define who we are and what we do. We believe they are also the reason why Anglia is the market leader in fully-guided history trips for UK schools. We work with you to design a bespoke tour which meets the specific needs of your school and which supports what you are teaching in class. We start by asking what you want your students to see and what you want them to experience then build the tour around these requirements. A tour which, as the testimonials on our website show, your students will find thought-provoking, engaging and enjoyable.
