This exclusive Sports Studies Conference in partnership with the Manchester United Foundation, is designed specifically to inspire Key Stage 4 students eager to explore opportunities for a career in the dynamic world of sports.
Hosted at the world famous Old Trafford stadium, this event offers all sports studies students the opportunity to discover the dedication, teamwork, and career opportunities that make sport a thriving global industry.
This event takes place 18th - 19th June 2026.
Over the 2 days students will participate in 3 Skills Lab workshops led by members of the Manchester United foundation team, hear from guest speakers and go behind the scenes with a stadium tour to explore the theatre of dreams.

Packed with valuable insights and hands-on learning covering key topics on the curriculum, whilst developing practical skills, these 2 days will inspire students who are passionate about fitness, the business side of sports or sports science:
Whether students are considering a career in sports management, coaching, or just love playing sports, this conference will give them the knowledge and inspiration you needed to start planning for future studies and careers.
The event opens with the Sport Studies Seminar hosted by the Manchester United Foundation. You will be joined by John Shiels, CEO of MU Foundation, who gives a key note speech and welcome.
The team will then lead the first workshop of the event "managing the big occasion" during which the group will learn about the importance of resilience and how to deal with pressure on those big occasions.
There is then the opportunity to hear from the guest speaker about their career journey and experience, with the opportunity to ask questions before exploring the Manchester United museum.
During the event, your Sports Studies students will participate in Skills Lab Workshops. Led by experts, they'll take a deep dive into the characteristics of Manchester United, looking at what it takes to be a high performer, the business behind the brand and the psychology of pressure and resilience.
Skills Lab workshop topics:
Discover the importance of resilience and dealing with pressure.
Working in groups, learn about what it takes to become a high performing team.
This workshop explores Manchester United’s global identity through marketing and communication strategies.
An outdoor workshop focusing on team-building through practical activities.
