The picturesque coastline of Bay of Naples lies in the shadow of the mighty Vesuvius and both offer world class geographical experiences to inspire your students and enhance their learning of tectonics, coasts, tourism, farming and more. This volcanic region continues to see a large amount of volcanic and tectonic activity.
Whilst visiting this region many groups also choose to visit the world famous archaeological sites, Pompeii and Herculaneum or take a boat ride over to the Island of Capri. There are many opportunities to learn more about local produce with visits to cheese and lemon farms or to an olive oil factory.
Use our sample itinerary to help picture what your trip could look like. Our itineraries are flexible, visits and timings will be planned based on your needs.
The most famous cheese factory in Italy. A fantastic visit easily added to the end of a drive down the Amalfi Coast to consider the topic of ‘Industry’. Renowned for its outstanding buffalo mozzarella, your guided school tour will provide an insight into all aspects of production and an opportunity to taste the outstanding produce.
An ideal add-on to the Amalfi Coast drive. Located in the Alburni Mountains, immersed in the heart of a spectacular nature, this Kart cave system extends for a length of about three thousand feet, suspended between land and water. With your guide, the underground river (Negro), offers an unusual boat trip into the caves which are of significant archaeological importance. After the caves, students will visit the modern multi-media museum highlighting the biodiversity of the local environments.
Step into the world of one of Italy’s most iconic foods at this family-run business. During a guided tour of the factory, see the whole production process creating different types of pasta from short-cut extruded pasta such as Penne, to ribbon-cut noodles such as Fettuccine. After the tour students will receive a small memento from La Fabbrica Della Pasta.
Forty meters below the lively streets of the Naples, you’ll find a different world, unexplored, isolated by time, but deeply connected with the world above. Every historic epic, from the foundation of Neopolis, to the bombs of WWII, has left its mark on the walls of the yellow tufa stone, the soul of Naples, and the stone with which the city was built.
The Sorrento bowling alley is within easy walking distance from the centre and provides a good option to entertain your group.
The Sorrento Musical takes its cue from the “Tarantella”, a typical dance of the southern regions. This is a popular show with tourists which takes you through Sorrento's history.
Città della Scienza is a centre for the promotion and popularisation of scientific culture and innovation technology. It offers many educational activities, workshops and guided tours.
